The artist
Canadian painter from the greater Montreal area, I highlight portraits of strong, attractive and determined women. A marketing and communications professional by day, I make a big place for my passion thanks to my permanent studio.
My story
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. My artistic soul leads me first to music and dance. I had never been interested in the visual arts until I was completely overwhelmed by the discovery of this medium: acrylic on canvas.
The click
During the great global pandemic lockdown in 2020, schools are closed. I paint a mural in my windows for my kids with rainbows – unicorns and Mario Bros to boot. The feeling of the paint sliding on the glass soothes me in these uncertain times. Passers-by stop in front of my improvised work. Confined, I order artist materials online and get started.
All that came out of my brushes were portraits of women. The result surprises me, pleases me. My entourage encourages me. And I start again and again. I no longer have enough walls to display my paintings, they have to find their homes. The aha moment.
My inspirations
My style is distinguished by the layering of vibrant colors in my portraits that support strong emotions. Greatly inspired by Corno , Françoise Nielly and VOKA , I refine my technique and my style by dint of explorations and by training at the Bold school of the Canadian artist and teacher Charla Maarschalk .
Women
I want to paint strong women, who stand up. Women who break down doors after being told they can't, get up after a defeat, who have the courage to denounce the unacceptable and show solidarity. Women who take care of themselves, to better take care of others.
I find them beautiful in the face of adversity. Everything goes through the look and the omnipresent bright colors.
I want to share this vision and dress people's walls with these values of strength, resilience and beauty. To inspire better. Bright colors and women that I find beautiful. Works imprinted with sensuality, strength, beauty and vulnerability.
